Made in Idaho uses a powerful search engine tool that actually spiders the webpage of the company that manufactures and sells products manufactured in Idaho. The technology is similar to that used by Google, Yahoo, MSN and others. The search engine does not allow an automatic search of submitted webpages to the engine, thus insuring that the companies listed here are actually made in Idaho. If the company sells products that are manufactured here, those will be listed. The different here is that these are entered manually into the engine after it is determined that a company meets the requirements. One the company website is entered into the system, the spider grabs the keywords and places these into the engine. When you use the search engine with a key word such as phones, entertainment, coffee, PBX, telephony or anything you are looking for; the results are displayed to you to get the web page.

Made in Idaho takes no donations or fees for any services it provides to companies being listed or those who use the services. Even the Made in Idaho sign for those who want it is made right here in Nampa, ID. The sign is purchased through Barrett Systems and can be displayed only by companies who meet the criteria for being Made in Idaho.

We don't believe a company should have to pay a membership fee to be promoted here. We believe that companies should be promoted freely and allowed to be listed at no cost. Of course we don't do TV or Radio ads, we're found by word of mouth or people searching for products made in Idaho on other search engines.

Of course there are additional resources on Made in Idaho that you may use such as the forums and shopping cart. Made in Idaho wants to provide you with as much promotion and exposure as possible on the site. Some of you, we have found, do not have a webpage or a shopping cart for people to purchase your products.
